On April 19th, Dr. Maria Rosa Buxarrais was invited to participate in the 259th European Time Dinner, organized by the private, non-profit organization Ámbito María Corral, to discuss the topic of “Living with Purpose and Projects.” These gatherings provide a space for reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue on various current issues. They are always held around a table while the speakers and attendees enjoy dinner.
In her presentation, “Living with Purpose and Projects: Young People, Meaning, and Education”, Maria Rosa Buxarrais reflected on the need to understand education as a tool for guiding life and building a meaningful future. The lecture emphasized the importance of accompanying young people not only in acquiring knowledge and skills, but also in discovering what motivates them, engages them, and gives direction to their existence. From a pedagogical and ethical perspective, she argued that educating for purpose and projects involves creating spaces for introspection, dialogue, and action, helping young people transform their questions of meaning into concrete forms of commitment, responsibility, and hope.
